Where does specific this hypothesis come from? I am curious, since you never mention any surveys you held or where you got your insights from... Not saying it's not true—but written like this, to me, it looks more like an opinion or a general umbrella statement for a very heterogeneous group of folks and I wonder where this comes from.

I was a mentee on there just recently and I had not a single one-time-session...and whenever I am mentoring for free I also never had single interactions as well (pro bono work because financial inaccessibility is also an issue I want to raise awareness for).

I am not saying I have not been taken advantage of or had trouble deciding how much time to donate—but I am also a certified educator who is capable deciding what really pushes the mentee to get something out of it.

In order to be paid for mentoring I think there are skills from aspects of coaching and psychology someone should have to charge for it.

Do I think everyone needs to be a teacher or coach to be a mentor? No.
Does someone qualify after a track record of 5 years? Maybe.
Is mentorship always a two way street? Yes.
